End-Grain Cutting Board - Weave
Description
Patterned End-Grain Cutting Board.
Handcrafted using Hard Maple and Black Walnut. Each board Rubber Feet on Bottom. Does not have Juice Groove or Finger Slots, bottom has a Chamfered Bottom Ege making it easy to pick up. Boards measure approximately 2" x 12" x 17".
These are cutting boards, very heavy, butcher block style....
End Grain Cutting Boards are considered better than face or edge grain boards because their vertical wood fibers are gentler on knives, allowing the blade to pass between the fibers and promoting knife sharpness, and the fibers can "self-heal" from cuts, making the boards more durable and resistant to deep knife marks. While more expensive due to their complex construction, end grain boards offer a superior cutting experience and longevity for serious home cooks and professionals
For proper maintenance, never machine wash or soak the board in water. Clean it by hand using warm water and a gentle dish detergent. Regularly condition the board with a food-grade mineral oil and wax or a specialized product such as “Boardsmith Cutting Board Butter” or the “Knot-Just-Boards Board Butter” available here. After washing and thoroughly drying, apply a thin layer of board butter with a clean cloth, allowing it to absorb into the wood for 20 to 60 minutes. Finally, remove any surplus with a clean cloth.
